Bing and Yahoo SEO Strategies

Bing and Yahoo SEO Strategies

Today I would like to discuss the process of developing a good Bing and Yahoo SEO strategy.

It amazes me that some people just don’t realize that Bing and Yahoo do indeed exist in todays online world…

And in fact, together they account for nearly a third of all search traffic, in the entire world…

That’s a huge market share of potential customers to leave out, when it comes to tailoring your on page, Organic SEO!!

Organic SEO Strategies

Tailoring Bing & Yahoo SEO

Developing good Organic SEO Strategies are little-bit different for Bing and Yahoo, unlike Google, they’re not as proficient in always finding and indexing New Content.

But that’s O.K., because, we as website owners, can help them!!

Bing actually has a service called Bing Webmaster Tools, where you can submit your XML sitemap to them.

This will let Bing and Yahoo know that our site exists…and that we are creating high-quality, relevant-content for our visitor’s.

Bing and Yahoo, will now crawl your site daily searching for new content.

That’s why it’s imperative that you keep adding NEW content on a daily basis…for the first (90) days.

After the (90) day mark, your site will then be Deemed, to be of high-quality and your site can be trusted.

So you can scale-back your posting to twice a week!!

And just let your $$conversions$$ roll in each and every month!!

In 2010,.Microsoft took over all of Yahoo Search, so now you will have the added benefit of getting your site indexed on both Bing and Yahoo, in real time…

And you only have to submit your XML site-map once.

Here’s a Great Tip!!

When writing you’re content try to be as conversational as possible…adding your (targeted-keywords), sparingly.

I try to limit my targeted-keywords, to no more than (8), for let’s say a (1200) word post.

This more conservative style of targeted keyword use, is what the Search Engine’s want to see now!!

They Do-Not want to see affiliate-links and keywords, plastered all over the place.

Submitting your XML sitemap to Bing Webmaster Tools…

Bing Webmaster Tools

The first thing you’ll want to do is open a (Bing) search bar.

Then simply, perform a search for the following term, without the quotes:

“Submit your site to Bing”

In the search results, you’ll be looking for the following URL:

Bing/toolbox/submit-your-site-to-bing

(Click) on that link

You’ll be taken to a page where you can submit your website URL to bing…

Simply, enter your website URL in the field provided…

Click on (Add) your site and you’ve just completed the first step!!

Bing and Yahoo now know about your site.

Next you’ll want to submit your actual XML sitemap to Bing Webmaster Tools.

Simply, go to Bing Webmaster Tools and set up a Microsoft account, if you don’t already have one.

Once your account is set up and you’re in the webmaster tools dashboard area…

Enter your website URL in the field provided…

Fill out the remaining details about your website and click update…

Now, you’ll be taken to Bing’s Verification page…

Under option (#2) you’ll see a line of code: Copy and paste that code.

Now head over to your WordPress website dashboard and click on the (appearance) button…

Then click on the (editor) tab…

And you’ll see a screen of html code…

Then go ahead and paste that line of code that you grabbed from Webmaster tools…

Paste the code just under the <head> tag…

Click on update and your all done!!

Now Bing will know that you have a WordPress Niche Website and that your creating relevant content often.

Your site will now be indexed by Bing and Yahoo, daily!!

That’s awesome!!

One last thing you’ll want to do, is within your WordPress dashboard area, you’ll want to click on the (All in One SEO Pack)…

Then (click) on XML sitemaps…

And go down that next page and make sure that the box next to submit your site to Google and Bing are check marked!!

This will ensure that all of the search engines will be notified when you create a new page/post…

And your site will be crawled daily!!

  1. Very informative article on how to make great use of the Bing and Yahoo search engines. They are also important so it is important not to ignore them, as they can end up bringing you loads of traffic to your site.

I learnt something new though. I didn’t know when you had a new site you should post something every day for 90 days. This is more food for thought, and I had better start concentrating on one site at a time again.

    • Hello and Thank You for your comment. Yes, it’s true, now more than ever…

The Search engines really want to see loads of content at the (90) day mark.

But the good news is that we only have to do this hard-work (once) and it has the potential of paying-off for months to come.

Webmasters who fail to employ this strategy are leaving a lot of organic traffic on the table…

I do have smaller website’s, with much less content…that’s o.k. though, I just know going into it that much of my initial traffic will have to be in the form of (paid-traffic).

I typically use a few different paid traffic techniques for this, such as BingAds and Paid Soloads email marketing campaings.

This combination really works well for me.

      Thanks again for your comment…

Best Wishes in all of your online endeavors!!

  2. Very good breakdown. What’s really good about SEO today is you don’t have to do too much with your keywords. As long as your keywords are in the title and in the first paragraph of your content, you will be fine. I know this from personal experience…..this enables you to just be conversational with the rest of your content as oppose to trying to figure how to “fit keywords” into your content.

    • Hello and thank you for your comment…I totally agree, SEO is So much easier in today’s online world, which, in my opinion makes content much more readable and enjoyable!!

And that should really be the overall goal of any website owner or content Creator…to make your content readable and helpful…by providing a good user experience, one that provides helpful information and is thout provoking at the same time!!

Thanks again for your Comment.. have a Wonderful Day!!
